Gene Krupa was the only Movie Star to emerge from the Jazz World he appeared in more movies.
His Swing band program had many hits that are still heard today in Movies and TV .
He was considered the Father of Modern drumming by Ringo Starr, John Bonham ( Led Zeppelin) Mitch Mitchell ( Jimi Hendrix) Keith Moon ( the Who). His influence contributed to the success of Drum equipment companies Slingerland Drums and Zildjian cymbals.
He was the 1st recipient of the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame .
